In a continent where most conservation focuses on mega-fauna, SMACON protects highly vulnerable West African small-bodied mammals and their habitats through evidence-based conservation. It conducts community-led program that safeguard local livelihoods and focus on at-risk, conservation priority species. Projects are set in the context of community need, environmental protection, maintaining healthy landscapes, and the reduction of threats to wildlife.
